RogerP Posts: "Inherently wrong and laughably incorrect without a moment's thought!" [Jul 31, 2006 - 11:58 AM]

Well put chuck

Nice of you to say so Roger.

- exactly the phrase I would use to describe your misrepresentation of my post.

I did quote you _verbatium_...

I cut and pasted your text VERBATIUM Roger. It was cut and pasted exactly as you typed it, so I would not mistakenly mis-quote you.

I did NOT say that you HAD documented and reported every problem,

You named me specifically in your post leaving no doubt whom you were referring to.

but that you were on a quest to do so.

[bruhahahahaha!] Its the same damn thing Roger! Geez!

If I was on a quest, Roger, I'd succeeded at it, or at least have taken even modest steps to further it along.

Your specific quote (without modification - VERBATIUM):

“... some have made it a quest to document, catalog and announce EVERY reported problem.”

and you then proceed to on go on to mention me directly at the bottom of the post:

Okay Chuck - go ahead - ya know ya wanna. :-)

and now you claim (above) that “I did NOT say that you HAD documented and reported every problem,”

Whom else did you mention in your post, Roger?

,,d'Oh!,,

Your assertion was transparent, as you intended.

If you have been less than completely successful,

Opinions surely vary.

However, if I had been on a quest as you assert, I would have taken some sort of step(s) to do as you claim... A construct to aid in "a quest to document, catalog" such as I have with my attempts to document Astronaut Speedmasters like this:

http://chronomaddox.com/omega/archives/speedies_by_astronaut.html

http://chronomaddox.com/omega/archives/speedies_by_mission.html

http://chronomaddox.com/omega/archives/speedies_by_number.html

or Delryn usage in c.861 movements:

http://chronomaddox.com/omega/articles/delryn.html

or what are the currently available Speedmasters in the moonwatch line:

http://chronomaddox.com/current_recent_speedmaster.html

or a comparison of stated specs between the Rolex and Omega dive watches (talk about a potentially controversial topic):

http://chronomaddox.com/cost-feature_table.html

(for those who are keeping track, that one was last modified in april of this year]

Or even such goofy topics such as this:

http://chronomaddox.com/omega/other/omegamusic.html

So, certainly I have the ability to create tables, databases, charts, constructs, etc. to document such things. Obviously I have the energy and the where with all to do that sort of thing. I'm not afraid of work as I'd think my posts and efforts here and elsewhere (an inkling I've included above) would prove is pretty obvious... And I've absolutely had plenty of opportunity to do so.

You will not find a similar construct on my site or on my computers (were one to look) on the topic of c.33xx failures.

Thus, I haven't done so. It is not a task I would enjoy doing. I'm not Omega's unpaid Intern. If Omega wants to hire me, they can get a hold of me easily enough.

as your premise is false... (keep reading)

that does not change my perception of your aim.

As your premise is false.. so is the rest of it...

Your repeated trumpeting of this issue tends

Roger, if you will remember correctly, Greg (Time Flies) shared with me his experience so that I could pass it along to the forum and on my blog.

Since you misrepresent that, as well as the misreprenstation you posted previously says volumes about you.

to confirm my percetion

And your continued posts along these lines are forming clear perceptions of you.

You are the person who specifically called for a response from me in your post. I didn't post your message, you did.

(as does your own claim that you wish you had the foresight to compile a database)

I think everybody (well most people - I'm not going to assume you would) wishes we had more information on this topic than we have. I certainly do. It is a shame that so many reports have been lost as time has passed.

but it is possible, I suppose, that my perception could be wrong.

As I illustrated in my last post... and now this one...

Meanwhile, feel free to tak eyour own advice and "...stick to solid information instead of what you posted just now."

I shall continue to stick to solid information as we have it, pointing out where there are gaps in our information where they exist. But I am beginning to suspect that expecting you to stick to solid information as opposed to you continuing to post your perceptions are unrealistic

I have to tell you Roger, I'm not seeing any personal benefit by particiapating in these threads.

At least as it relates to your dissection and misrepresentation of my posts.

If you don't want me to quote you verbatium...
Okay Chuck - go ahead - ya know ya wanna. :-)

...and respond directly point by point to your comments and assertions ... calling me out isn't a particularly effective way to prevent it.

Roger

Best of fortune with your watches, be they c.33xx or not... And ...

Good hunting!
