This doesn't mean it was the smallest chronograph in the world thi means it was the smallest chronograph with a 12 hour register in the world. At 12 Lignes, it was. The Val 72 is 13 Lignes and the Val 71 14 lignes.
The Venus 12 hr movements were all 14 Lignes, the Landeron 13 3/4 Lignes, the various UG movements were all bigger than 12L. The Excelsior park Cal 40 was 14L.
The Movado 95M was 12L but that came a bit later than the Lemania.
As far as I can tell these were all the chronos with 12 hour recorders prior to 1960.
